Symptoms of hypoglycaemia from the brain

The blood glucose concentration at which your brain begins to show symptoms of impaired function (neuroglycopenic symptoms) is lower than that for adrenaline symptoms, and unlike adrenaline production, it does not vary depending on recent blood glucose levels. The last two bullet points occur in extreme cases only.

Weakness, dizziness.

Difficulty concentrating.

Double or blurred vision.

Disturbed colour vision (especially red–green colours).

Difficulties with hearing.

Feeling warm or hot.

Headache.

Drowsiness.

Odd behaviour, poor judgement.

Confusion.

Poor short-term memory.

Slurred speech.

Unsteady walking, lack of coordination.
